Giuliana Lavagnino, M.Sc.

I completed my Bachelor's degree in Business Administration at the Free University of Bozen, attending courses such as Mathematics for Economists, Statistics, Business Economics, and Applied Data and Information Processing in German, English, and Italian languages. During my studies, I also lived and worked partially in London.

This allowed me to acquire solid theoretical knowledge, which I applied during my internship at the Italian Chamber of Commerce in areas such as data management and processing of customer orders, including analysis of customer data to identify trends and patterns, as well as maintaining the database of all existing accommodation facilities in the region.

As part of my Business Informatics program at Friedrich Schiller University Jena, I deepened my knowledge in areas such as Business Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science in Python, SAP systems, and E-Commerce. Within the E-commerce module, I designed my own website and implemented HTML, CSS, PHP with MySQL, and JavaScript. I am proficient in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, and Visual Basic, and I have extensive experience with databases, both SQL and NoSQL, including MongoDB and Redis.

For my Master's thesis, I focused on Deep Learning and Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), simulating Gradient Descent with Wolfram. I successfully created a GAN using Python code that realistically reproduced numbers as if they had been handwritten, after training the GAN on the MNIST dataset.

Currently, I am pursuing a PhD at the Chair of Business Informatics, particularly in e-Commerce and Digital Business, at Friedrich Schiller University Jena. For the future, I plan to leverage my passion for innovative solutions in the fields of Digital Business and Information Systems through my research.
