South Africa's electoral commission has confirmed after counting nearly all votes that the ruling ANC has lost a significant number of votes to other parties. For the first time since the end of apartheid, the ANC has lost its absolute majority, securing only 40.11% of the vote. In a ZDF report, Professor Freytag shared his assessment of a potential ANC-EFF coalition. He considers such a coalition to be "poison for South Africa's economic development."
